What is a BRIJELUCHE?
A BRIJELUCHE is an ancestral species and product of the imagination.
In a soft and colorful way, a BRIJELUCHE embodies unique characters that reflect the stories and values of Mexican culture.
Where do BRIJELUCHES come from?
The idea for BRIJELUCHES came on a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico. While exploring a street market, we observed a local artisan who showed his colorful and vibrant handcrafts on a display table. We were instantly fascinated by the mystical and creative scenery of folk art. Shortly after we arrived at the table, a young boy approached the exhibition with bright eyes and a smile that reflected the same fascination we were experiencing inside. The little guy tried to touch one of the crafts and was immediately stopped by his mother. She was quick to remind him to not touch anything. She was afraid that something would break. The natural expression of disappointment on the child's face made us wonder, how can we make the values of Mexican culture more accessible, especially to children? BRIJELUCHES is our way of transmitting Mexican values with greater accessibility to a new generation.
